Chance to join a hip-hop-style opera crew!
In this program inspired by Wilhelm Richard Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, the “sing-off” depicted in the opera is linked to hip-hop, dubbed the opera of the streets. A “hip-hop school” will be set up at the Museum with top rappers and DJs as tutors, in a participatory project involving learning while performing. The project will also access hip-hop culture from around the world online, while displaying archival material from previous performances.
