Suddenly, sheep appear in the Museum’s Open Space, bleating, eating, quarreling …cute, unique, a little frightening! “Les moutons” is an unforgettable experience that captivates people of all ages. The Canadian troupe CORPUS captures the essence of “sheepness” in a fun, humorous world where reality and fantasy blur.

The Museum, giving maximum play to its transparency and openness, will offer visitors omnibus encounters with physically dynamic performances—in its Theater, outdoor Open Space, and Public Zone. The Japan debut of groupe ENTORSE, a performance group now enjoying critical acclaim. Their name, ENTORSE, means “to sprain”—the inadvertent application of torque to a body, an object, or a space, causing it to twist. A virtual image, born amid distortion, becomes reality in performances fraught with paradox. From France—a world of insecure and frenetic emotion.

Plays Bösendorfer -10th Anniversary

A series featuring Theater 21’s house piano, an overhauled 1962-made Bösendorfer. To celebrate the Museum’s 10th anniversary, we will hold a marathon concert featuring performers from the past and new appearances.

Cinema Series
Eiga no gokui(Art of Film) vol.15 The MoMA Film Best
After November
Featuring selected vintage prints from the collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art’s Film Library: a leader in the film archive movement and cinematic movement since its founding in 1935.
A program featuring films of the type shown at theaters equipped with a 35mm movie projector. “Children’s Cinema Classroom” (Aug 23) now become annual.

During the Golden Week holidays and on its October 9 Opening Anniversary, the Museum holds many events for the participation of visitors. The Art Complex program provides opportunity for different genres of young artists for their presentation. Our Museum has also become one of the destinations for outdoor traveling theaters.
